SiriusXM Interns

I am the first ever intern for Jose of SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal/Ozzy’s Boneyard! Since the beginning of my internship, I’ve been very happy and have learned so much! I immediately jumped into the action by helping Jose with radio interviews of very talented musicians of the Metal genre. I was and still am very impressed by Jose’s ability to interview off the cuff and still have the interviews be relevant and poignant. Watching Jose has given me ideas and motivation towards my own radio show at Brooklyn College. Jose told me to speak my mind, be confident and just have fun. He’s been the greatest mentor so far! 

Besides learning about the verbal aspects of radio, I’ve learned a great deal about the programming at SiriusXM. I’ve learned about the program Prophet, which is software that allows you to import and edit music so that it’s radio ready, as well as organizing what type of music gets played, how frequently it gets played, and when it gets played. This is all very new to me but I’m excited to learn more about this program and its capabilities.

There is so much information that I’ve learned in the past few weeks that it’s so hard to verbalize all of it! I look forward to continuing my internship at Liquid Metal/Ozzy’s Boneyard and soaking up as much valuable information as I can.
